Let us take your senses on a journey through the manufacture of different types of tea whilst we explain the differences between loose and tea bag varieties. At this year’s Flavours of Herefordshire awards ceremony held at Lyde Court, Hereford on Saturday 2nd February 2013 we were presented with the award for ‘Herefordshire Food and Drink Prodigy’, given to the newest up and coming business and entrant into the awards. Judges were greatly “impressed by our involvement within the community.”

The awards were presented by Herefordshire’s newest resident, the TV presenter Jules Hudson (Escape to the Country and Countryfile). The show was compered by Mark Edwards from Sunshine Radio.

The team is absolutely thrilled to have been presented with this award, we have achieved so much in the last year and receiving recognition for this is more than we could ever have expected. It has been a lot of hard work, but great fun and we couldn’t have achieved so much without the support of our fantastic local suppliers and loyal customer base.

An exhibition of watercolour paintings with local artist Nigel Street

Monday 8th to Friday 12th October 2012
Daily from 10.30am to 2pm. Other times by arrangement.

Nigel will be available during the times shown to explain the basics of his approach and techniques and to provide advice and guidance, with ad hoc demonstrations of aspects of the art as appropriate.

Children’s Bead Workshops with Maureen Flint
Drop in session Thursday 30th May.
A friendly, colourful drop in workshop for children of all ages. Children can choose to make either a bracelet or necklace. Wooden beads will be available for younger children.
£5 per session, including all materials.
The activity will take approximately 1-1 ½ hours to complete. Parental attendance required.

Learn the decorative art of decoupage with Jo Verity – Decoupage and Victorian Paper Craft Artist.

Whether you are a complete novice or just want to brush up your skills our decoupage course will inspire and help you to create unique pieces of beautiful art.

Course Includes:
All materials included from objects to decoupage, cutting and gluing tools to images and papers.(However if you wish to bring along your own images you are welcome to do so.)
Unlimited tea, coffee and cakes from the Tea Room.

Places are limited to a maximum of six people, to ensure you receive one to one tuition and support.
10am – 4pm with an hour break for lunch.

Angie Hughes will be holding a three day workshop where students will learn about mark making on papers and fabrics and how to convert these patterns into design ideas for textiles. Using collage and stitching, hand and or machine embroidery you will use all these unique materials to create a piece of work inspired by nature.

In celebration of the Ledbury Poetry Festival ‘Artisans on Tour’ pause in our gallery for only FOUR days from Friday 29th June to Monday 2nd July.


The Artisans are an independent group of talented British designer makers who passionately believe in making individual, high quality arts and crafts available to all.


Artistic inspiration comes from a variety of sources and is often from the written word; in this exhibition creative works are lovingly displayed alongside their artistic muse:
 
Elaine Mason’s Tree of Life bowl was born from the poetry of Kahlil Gibran whilst the humorous words of Edward Lear appear on Jo Verity’s exquisitely decoupaged picture frames. Rebecca Millikin’s ceramics reflect the poems and rhymes which inspire children from authors such as Lewis Carroll and A A Milne and, last but by no means least, there are beautiful, hand painted silk and wool scarves designed and made by…… Shelley!

NEWS JUST IN – The line up of Artisans has grown, to include: artistic blacksmith Gary Fullagar, artisan designer and maker of unique handmade handbags Elinor Fielder and pet portrait artist Beverley Courtney.
